The PACAP Provincial Project Officer Ms. Monina G. Hernandez proposed Wednesday, July 7 during the Provincial Stakeholders Committee that a one day Community Forum with Surigao del Norte FOCAS stakeholders will be scheduled on August 4, 2010. The PSC approved the said activity schedule with the theme “Celebrating Partnerships, Sustaining Development Initiatives”. Said activity aims to draw out appreciation and commitment on the 5-year partnership between PACAP and Surigao del Norte stakeholders based on the summarized experiences and lessons learned from the established projects.
Surigao City (March 18) — The display booth of the Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP) assisted-local producer “Karaga Pasalubong” bested other exhibitors throughout the region in the Best Booth contest in the weeklong Calagan Festival Trade Fair recently held at the provincial gym this city. On the meeting conducted last January 19, 2010 by the Sustainable Fishery Management Team composed of LMDA, FMC Secretariat and the Sanggunaing Bayan Chairperson on Agriculture along with the Municipal Agriculturist who represent the municipality of Mainit, Alegria, Kitcharao and Jabonga unanimousely agreed to include the designation of the Control Terminal Points (CTP) in the Unified Fishery Ordinance. The Lake Mainit FOCAS Management Committee (FMC) reorganized into an Expanded FMC during its first meeting conducted last November 6, 2009.
